In line with our commitment to a holistic admissions approach, the Indian Multifaceted Excellence Admissions Scheme (IMEA) is introduced with the aim of recognizing Indian students’ academic achievements alongside personal experiences and leadership qualities. Through the IMEA, successful candidates demonstrating outstanding non-academic accomplishments will be awarded bonus points to their overall score for admissions, potentially enhancing their chances of receiving an offer from HKU. Students taking the Grade XII Board Examinations of CBSE or CISCE in 2027 are now invited to submit their applications.
Eligibility
- Be appearing for the Grade XII Board Examinations conducted by CBSE or CISCE in 2027
- Complete the following steps by 13 November 2026:
- Step 1 - An HKU undergraduate application
- Step 2 - A separate IMEA application
- Counsellors to the IMEA Achievement Verification and Endorsement Form by 20 November 2026
Selection Criteria
- School-Vetted Achievements
Applicant’s school counsellor will provide a formal endorsement using HKU’s template, verifying:
o Academic performance in school (school-based results)
o Achievements in international or continental Olympiad competitions
o Performance in national competitions and examinations
o Other notable merits and accomplishments
- Interview Performance
Shortlisted applicants will be assessed on their intellectual potential, communication skills, and alignment with HKU’s values and goals.
Selection Result
- Apply to the overall admission score only
- No impact on subject scores or scholarship considerations
*Candidates who are not shortlisted will continue to be evaluated under the International / Non-JUPAS Admissions Scheme through standard admissions process.
Key Dates
HKU undergraduate application and IMEA application open.
Submit both the HKU undergraduate application and IMEA application by this date to be eligible for evaluation and shortlisting.
An Achievement Verification and Endorsement Template will be sent upon successful submission of the IMEA application.
Deadline for Counsellors to upload the Achievement Verification and Endorsement Form via the designated submission method.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview.
