The Master of Buddhist Studies (MBuddhStud) programme, offered in collaboration with the Centre of Buddhist Studies, is a graduate programme where students are provided with high-quality training on the fundamentals of Buddhism and on various textual, doctrinal, and historical perspectives of Buddhist traditions and sources. It introduces students to the main Buddhist schools through various methodological approaches and offers language courses in Pāli, Sanskrit, and Tibetan for facilitating in depth learning of the Buddhist traditions. Furthermore, it encourages students to apply Buddhist philosophy, practices, and values to address personal, social, and contemporary global issues from interdisciplinary perspectives.
The programme accommodates students who plan to pursue research degrees in Buddhist studies or related disciplines as well as professionals in education, administration, business, engineering, medicine, social work, and counselling, who are interested to apply their understanding of Buddhism in their daily work and as means of personal development.
Mode of Attendance
Full Time (one year, with classes on weekday evenings and weekends)
Part Time (two years, with classes on weekday evenings and weekends)

Programme Entrance Requirements
1. A good bachelor's degree from a recognised university, or equivalent qualifications.
2. Candidates who do not hold a good Bachelor's degree of this University or another qualification of equivalent standard may in exceptional circumstances be permitted to register if they can demonstrate substantial background and experience in the subject matter and can satisfy the examiners in a qualifying examination as preparation for studies at a Master's degree level.
