No further extension of time to submit your IELTS test results will be allowed once the IELTS Deadline has expired.
No other English language test (e.g. TOEFL) will be accepted. We do not accept IELTS tests taken online; you must attend one of the authorized IELTS test centres in person to take your IELTS test. A minimum standard of the IELTS test must be achieved as a requirement for admission to the PCLL. At present the prescribed minimum IELTS overall band score is 7.0. This is a requirement of the Hong Kong Standing Committee on Legal Education and Training. No exemptions will be granted. In light of the new One Skill Retake Policy by IELTS, we have agreed in consultation with the other PCLL providers that we will not accept test results where an applicant has retaken one skill. This means that applicants must complete their IELTS examination in one attempt. Those applicants failing to obtain a minimum overall band score of at least 7.0 in one sitting, must retake all modules.
You should not arrange for the IELTS test centre to send us your IELTS test results; applicants must do so themselves by registered mail so that there is a record of sending and delivery since non-submission of the IELTS test results by the IELTS Deadline will lead to automatic rejection. It is the responsibility of the applicant to ensure that their IELTS test results are sent by registered mail and will be received by the PCLL Admissions Office before the IELTS Deadline. You should address all supporting documents as well as your IELTS test results to:
The PCLL Admissions Office, Faculty of Law
10/F, Cheng Yu Tung Tower,
