The Master of Arts in the field of Hong Kong History provides advanced training in both academic history and knowledge relevant to the professional job market. With its unparalleled concentration of expertise in the method and theory of writing history, and its practice, in relation to the social, political, cultural and economic history of Hong Kong, the department offers the only MA programme in the world enabling students to conduct in-depth study in Hong Kong history. One required core course introduces advanced academic skills in historical research and writing. Students choose five elective courses, with offerings varying from year to year, and they enjoy the flexibility to select offerings according to their academic interests and preferences. The MA dissertation is completed under the supervision of an expert supervisor from inside or outside the department.
