The Master of Arts in Creative Communications is a full-time, one-year programme dedicated to nurturing creativity as a fundamental element for effective leadership, career progression, and fostering collaborations across industries. In response to the growing recognition of creativity's significance in today's professional landscape, industry leaders and top executives are increasingly emphasizing the value of creativity in achieving career success and driving innovation. The programme places a strong emphasis on language and discourse, leveraging the esteemed research and expertise from HKU and the School of English to provide professionals with the tools to expand their global reach and creative influence.
Through its interdisciplinary focus, the MACC will survey the foundational principles of the creative process, equipping students with the skills to make a meaningful impact in various industries. The programme will prepare students for making a creative difference to existing industries through individual projects such as films, memoirs, or other forms of artistic expressions, or by developing transferable skills in editorial work, marketing, and event management across diverse media platforms.
By fostering industry partnerships, the programme will also give students the opportunity to engage with professionals and experts, gaining practical insights and hands-on experience in real-world applications of creative innovation. The diverse course offerings will cover macro and micro perspectives on creativity, marketing strategies for creative perspectives, and will culminate in a capstone project focused on creativity and happiness.
Furthermore, the programme's Creative Hub, known as The Black Box, serves as a dynamic space for innovation and collaboration, offering students a platform to showcase their talents, engage in creative projects, and participate in workshops and events that challenge and inspire their creative thinking.
