Bachelor's or higher degree
Qualification Description
Applicants currently enrolled in a Hong Kong-based tertiary institution studying a full-time bachelor’s degree funded by the University Grants Committee (UGC) are discouraged from pursuing any inter-institutional transfers. Transfers will only be considered under exceptional circumstances in which the following conditions are met:
1. The student has completed one year of a bachelor’s degree with excellent academic results, or
2. HKU has approved the student’s application for an inter-institutional transfer due to over-enrolment.
Lower Boundary
Successful completion of one year's study on a full-time bachelor's or higher degree programme at a recognized university, with a cGPA of at least 70% of the highest GPA of the institution, or at 3.0, whichever is higher (or its equivalent where a GPA system is not in use)
English Language Requirement
An overall band of 6.5 or better in IELTS Academic Module in the same attempt (within 2 years after the test date);
A score of 93 or better in the TOEFL internet-based test / TOEFL iBT Home Edition in the same attempt (within 2 years after the test date);
or
Fulfill ONE of the requirements <a href="/apply/international-qualifications/english-language-requirement" alt="here" target="_blank">here</a>
Second Language Requirement
A pass in a language other than English at Grade 10 level or above in one of the national examinations;
or
Fulfill ONE of the requirements <a href="/apply/international-qualifications/second-language-requirement" alt="here" target="_blank">here</a>
