Qualification
Qualification Description
Applicants currently enrolled in a Hong Kong-based tertiary institution studying a full-time bachelor’s degree funded by the University Grants Committee (UGC) are discouraged from pursuing any interinstitutional transfers. Transfers will only be considered under exceptional circumstances in which the following conditions are met:
1. The student has completed one year of a bachelor’s degree with excellent academic results, or
2. HKU has approved the student’s application for an interinstitutional transfer due to over-enrolment.

Lower Boundary
Successful completion of one year's study on a full-time bachelor's or higher degree programme at a recognized university, with a cGPA of at least 70% of the highest GPA of the institution, or at 3.0, whichever is higher (or its equivalent where a GPA system is not in use)
English Language Requirement
An overall band of 6.5 in IELTS Academic Module (within 2 years after the test date);
A score of 93 or better in the TOEFL internet-based test/ TOEFL iBT Home Edition, or 583 in the TOEFL paper-based test, or an overall score of 70 in the revised TOEFL Paper-delivered Test (October 2017 onwards) (within 2 years after the test date) [Note: TOEFL ITP test/ TOEFL ITP Plus is not accepted for satisfying the English Language Requirement];
or
Fulfill ONE of the requirements <a href="/apply/international-qualifications/english-language-requirement" alt="here" target="_blank">here</a>.
