Delightful, energetic, and stimulating

Eda summarises her first year at HKU as being delightful, energetic, and stimulating.

Having studied and lived in five different countries, Eda is global-minded and easily integrates into HKU's diverse community. "Since I have attended international schools for the majority of my life and have lived outside of my native country by the age of three, I strongly value the opportunity to further widen my perspectives by becoming acquainted with people from various cultures. HKU is vibrant and offers a range of groups and activities, allowing me to expand my interests beyond the classroom.”

Eda is enrolled in the Neuroscience programme and plans to pursue an interdisciplinary approach by designating Biology as her Major/Minor. Her favourite component of her HKU study is the tutorials. “Although others may disagree, I truly enjoy the tutorials. These smaller classes facilitate my comprehension of lecture-learned concepts. They also promote my interaction and sharing of ideas with other classmates, which I find delightful and stimulating. Further, the tutorials build a deeper relationship between students, instructors, and teaching assistants and we may ask course-related questions directly.” Shares Eda, who hopes to pursue a career in academia and research as a cognitive or behavioral neuroscientist.
