MDS(Perio) FT

The Master of Dental Surgery in Periodontology [MDS(Perio)] is a full-time programme that extends over not less than three years of study. The programme is designed to enable candidates to achieve an advanced level of knowledge and competence in Periodontology through a prescribed course of study and a supervised research project.

The programme ia a comprehensive course of advanced study and research into the histopathogenesis of periodontal diseases and their aetiology, prevention and management. It also covers the provision of advanced forms of periodontal therapy, as well as the planning,  placement and supportive care of dental implants. The programme includes lectures (including several top international scholars in the field), tutorials, seminars, case conferences, literature discussions, clinical and laboratory work, project assignments and training in research methods. The programme is the only one in Asia accredited by the European Federation of Periodontology (EFP), which reflects its quality and standards.

Programme Entrance Requirements

1.  A BDS degree from this University or an equivalent qualification.

2.  A minimum of one year of working experience, some of which should be of relevance to the programme applied for.
