Why HKU-Cambridge
Students would spend two years in Hong Kong followed by three years in Cambridge and earn a Bachelor of Engineering from HKU, as well as a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and a Master of Engineering from the University of Cambridge upon successful completion of this five-year programme. (Note: The Master of Arts degree will be conferred six years from the date of first registration at Cambridge.)
The Scheme is currently under review and may be subject to changes in the future. Any approved changes will be communicated to prospective applicants in due course. Notwithstanding any adjustments to the programme structure, the Scheme will remain a dual Bachelor's and Master's degree programme.

In this programme, you will spend three years in Cambridge and two years in Hong Kong to earn the bachelor and master degrees over five years.
During the exclusive five-year programme, you will gain learning experience at two highly sought-after universities with different academic styles and campus cultures, and receive the bachelor and master degrees in five years. Successful completion of the programme means that you will be eligible for professional accreditation and be able to pursue desirable career opportunities around the world.
Your Five-year Study
Students are admitted to the HKU Faculty of Engineering.
HKU will nominate students for assessment by the University of Cambridge, through the normal ‘UCAS’ route. Following a written screening test at HKU and interview by Cambridge personnel, successful students who have attained excellent academic achievements will receive offer of admissions, and begin to study in Cambridge in year three of this academic journey. If you do not meet the requirements, you will remain at HKU to complete the HKU Bachelor of Engineering.
Students will study the ‘Part I B’^ of the undergraduate Engineering curriculum in their first year of study at the University of Cambridge.
Students will take up ‘Part II’^ of the undergraduate curriculum and be awarded the Bachelor of Arts as well as the Master of Engineering degrees at Cambridge.
Upon completion, students apply for a BEng degree from HKU under a course mapping scheme.

Tuition fees are to be paid to each host institution (two years at HKU and three years at Cambridge).

How to Apply
If you wish to apply to the dual degree programme, please first apply to HKU’s Faculty of Engineering and enter your preferred Bachelor of Engineering programme as your top choice. Following your admission to the Faculty of Engineering, you can apply to join this scheme. Applicants have to pass both preliminary screening at HKU (written screening test and a sufficiently high grade point average), as well as selection by Cambridge (aptitude test during UCAS application and interview by Cambridge teaching staff). Unsuccessful candidates will continue their studies at HKU.
